Head of External RelationsBased in London, hybrid working Inside IR35Length: 12 months This is a high-profile, senior role at the heart of local government leadership. You will provide strategic advice across public policy, external relations, stakeholder engagement, communications and media, helping to build strong relationships with government, public sector partners, community organisations, opinion formers and the media.Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic advice to the Mayor on public policy, external relations, communications and stakeholder engagementDevelop and maintain strong relationships with government departments, public sector bodies, partners, community organisations and key influencersSupport the Mayor and senior leadership in delivering major priorities, projects and initiativesProvide proactive and responsive media advice in a fast-moving political environmentSupport elected members and senior officers in their roles as media representativesKey Requirements: Significant experience in external relations, public affairs, strategic communications or stakeholder engagementA strong understanding of the political and public policy landscapeExcellent relationship-building skills and the ability to influence a wide range of stakeholdersStrong strategic planning, project management and problem-solving skillsA Master''s degree or equivalent relevant professional experienceWhat Success Looks LikeBuild trusted and constructive relationships between the Mayor''s ..... full job details .....
