A striving and revolutionary secondary school in Colchester is seeking to appoint an outstanding and driven Head of Design and Technology to lead and develop a successful DT department to start in April Term. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced DT teacher with strong subject knowledge and leadership skills to shape a creative, innovative, and high-performing department. The Role: Lead and manage the Design and Technology department across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)Develop and implement a broad, engaging, and industry-relevant DT curriculumDrive high standards of teaching, learning, and pupil achievementLine manage and support DT staff, promoting professional growthOversee health and safety compliance within workshops and practical spacesManage departmental resources, budgeting, and development planning The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)A degree in Design and Technology or a related specialism (e.g. Product Design, Engineering, Resistant Materials, Food Technology, Graphics)Proven experience teaching DT at secondary levelLeadership experience or readiness to step into a middle leadership roleStrong organisational skills and a commitment to high standardsExcellent knowledge of workshop safety and practical classroom ..... full job details .....
