Head of Data £80,000 + Excellent benefits Hybrid role - West Midlands A Head of Data is required for a senior leadership role accountable for defining and delivering the enterprise data strategy. Responsible for building a trusted, cloud-native data platform (Azure, Fabric, Purview) and embedding data across decision-making, risk, and customer outcomes in a regulated environment. Key Responsibilities Own and execute the organisation''s data strategy (governance, quality, value). Lead Azure, Microsoft Fabric, and Purview platforms (architecture, roadmap, optimisation). Establish enterprise data governance (lineage, metadata, controls, compliance). Build and lead data engineering and architecture capability (lakehouse, pipelines). Drive analytics, BI (Power BI), and AI/ML adoption. Lead and develop a high-performing data team; influence senior stakeholders and regulators. Must-Have Experience Head of/Director-level data leadership in financial services or regulated sector. Deep expertise in Azure data stack (ADF, Databricks, Synapse, SQL, ADLS, CI/CD). Strong experience with Microsoft Purview and data governance frameworks. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI. Strong knowledge of FCA/PRA, GDPR, and data risk/operational resilience. Nice to Have Azure OpenAI/AI experience. Relevant Azure or data certifications. Profile Strategic but hands-on leader.
