Job summaryWould you like to provide leadership and management support to the highly regarded Camden Speech and Language Therapy Service?Whittington Health has speech and language therapy services in Camden, Islington, Barnet and Haringey and you will be working with internal colleagues as well as colleagues in other Provider Trusts operating in Camden.Camden SLT has teams dedicated to Early Years, Mainstream Schools, Services for Young People, Special Schools and Complex Needs.We are looking for someone who is committed to our ICARE values and is passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people within our diverse communities.We are looking for a manager with significant NHS operational management experience to support the development of the service with a focus on quality of care, clinical outcomes, financial sustainability, efficient and effective service delivery and data management. The successful candidate will need to have substantial experience working in Children\''s Services, demonstrable ability to lead and manage change/partnership working, experience of staff and budget management and excellent communication skills.Responsibilities

To manage therapy services within the community.To lead the management and integration of Camden SLT services within the borough for children 0-19 ensuring effective joined up pathways with key partners. To be accountable for the delivery of SLT 0-18, and support transition through to adult services 18-25 years with SEND.To develop a range of mechanisms to grow talent and develop individuals throughout the service.To act as a senior clinical champion influencing multi-disciplinary staff from a range of organisations to make change, ensuring that service improvements are acceptable and sustainable across both professional and organisational boundaries.To ensure that appropriate coproduction is used to ensure the inclusion of patient\''s perspectives within service improvements.To contribute to the development and delivery of productivity and efficiency savings within the service.To work with the governance lead to develop systems, control processes and risk management arrangements that ensure full compliance with internal and external governance procedures including a joint governance structure across the partnership organisations.To deputise for the CYP Lead for Barnet and Camden as required.To ensure delivery of the Annual Business plan to the timetabled milestones and delivery of financial operating targets.Qualifications and Experience

Essential: University degree or equivalent professional qualification; Hold a professional clinical qualification in a relevant children\''s discipline; Demonstrable capability and capacity for clinical service management at a senior level in a large, complex healthcare environment, including staff management, financial management and change managementDesirable: MSc/MA relevant to postKnowledge and Skills

Essential: Minimum of 5 years previous managerial experience in a large and complex organisation, preferably within the NHS; Previous experience (minimum 3 years) in a management role within Children\''s Services; Demonstrable success in delivering change and performance with and through management and clinical teams; Ability to analyse complex problems and develop practical solutions; Strategic, tactical and creative thinking with prioritisation in demanding environmentsDesirable: Previous experience of managing community services; Breadth of management experience across NHS or non-NHS environmentsSpecific Skills

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills; advanced keyboard skills and IT literacy; flexibility to meet deadlines; strong leadership and influencing abilities; ability to work with complex policy and diverse stakeholder groupsDetails
