Head of Business Risk and Control Management

Overview
International Bank based in London, are looking to recruit a Head of Business Risk and Control Management. The incumbent will be responsible for performing internal control and first line assurance as detailed in the responsibilities listed below.Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage the remediation of audit, compliance or risk findingsMaintain risk logs, incident registers, and ensure timely resolution of control issues and regulatory requirementsKeep abreast with the regulatory laws and policies of the regionSupport and manage Regulatory activities in coordination with stakeholdersManage business processes from a Governance and Compliance perspective. Periodically review policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the updated regulatory policies of the region.Incorporating the required changes in the Branch Process manuals.Regular MI and trend analysis to be provided to Senior Management to enable risk appetite decisions.Follow up with Business to ensure that the necessary information is obtained/ collated / verified and reconciled for the completion and submission of the relevant departmental reports and query resolutionCoordinating with internal and external auditors to ensure audits are conducted efficiently, and findings are addressed appropriately.Collaborate closely with Internal / External AuditorsCentrally coordinate the London Audits ensuring active participation from all stakeholdersEnsure corrective action is taken to meet business objectives.Advice and report on lessons learnt and minimizing future occurrences.Identifying areas for improvements to department’s efficiency and effectivenessSupport building a culture of governance.Support details of training on Compliance, Fraud Prevention, and business level controls.Qualifications and Experience
Min 10 years financial industry experience along with extensive understanding of Operations, Compliance, Corporate and Institutional BankingStrong knowledge of Governance, Risk and Compliance policies procedures.Analytical Thinking/ Business OrientatedExcellent communication (written and verbal), negotiation skills, good organizational leadership and people skillsIn depth understanding of the UK regulatory environmentDemonstrated business development and closing skillsAbility to work on own initiative and ability to prioritise workExcellent command of written and spoken EnglishStrong communication skills – oral and writtenSeniority level
