Are you a driven recruitment professional with a flair for winning clients, building relationships, and shaping high-performing teams? We’re looking for a bold, ambitious Head Commercial Recruitment Consultant to join our fast-growing, recruitment company based in Wetherby.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a role where you won’t just deliver recruitment—you’ll help build and lead a commercial desk from the ground up, bring in your own clients, and play a key role in shaping the future direction of the business.

What You’ll Be Doing

Business Development & Client Leadership

Identify, approach, and win new commercial clients, building long-term strategic partnerships

Develop and grow your own client portfolio while shaping the wider commercial desk strategy

Act as a trusted advisor, understanding client hiring needs and delivering tailored recruitment solutions

End-to-End Recruitment & Delivery

Own the full recruitment lifecycle from job briefing through to successful onboarding

Source top-tier candidates using social media, job boards, referrals, networking, and headhunting

Deliver an exceptional candidate experience while ensuring strong client outcomes

Screening, Interviewing & Talent Strategy

Conduct structured interviews to assess skills, experience, and cultural fit

Present high-quality shortlists and market insights to clients and hiring managers

Build and nurture a strong talent pipeline for current and future demand

Team Building & Collaboration

Play a key role in shaping and building a high-performing recruitment team

Contribute to developing processes, culture, and growth strategy within the business

Work closely with leadership to scale the commercial division

What We’re Looking For

Experience: 1–2+ years in recruitment, ideally within a start-up, agency, or fast-paced growth environment

Strong background in business development or client-facing roles is highly desirable

Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

Ability to influence clients and candidates with confidence and credibility

Proactive & Entrepreneurial:nA self-starter who thrives on winning business and building something from the ground up Commercially minded with the drive to create opportunity, not just respond to it

Organised & Resilient: Able to manage multiple clients, roles, and priorities effectively

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
