We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated solutions-based Head Chef and Sous Chef to join our team at Oscar''s Inn, a friendly family-run gastro pub/free house in the heart of Newark-on-Trent.You will need creativity and a passion for food to help further develop the food side of the business which incorporates casual dining, functions and events.The role could include extra training for the right applicant. Job duties: Development of exciting menus with a focus on high-quality fresh ingredients, locally-sourced where possible. Concept, design and execution of a wide range of dishes with options suitable for varied diets, with an understanding of cost and profit margins. Supervising, developing and collaboration with other chefs and kitchen workers of all skill levels. Being responsible for health and safety and food hygiene standards and records being maintained by all relevant staff to preserve our five-star food hygiene rating. Inventory management including stock control and ordering Continuous management of staffing levels to maintain a favourable staff cost to turnover ratio Liaison and collaboration with the front-of-house management team to maintain and improve the quality of service. Ideally, the successful candidate will have: Several years'' experience creating fresh food dishes from scratch with competence in meat, fish and vegetable preparation.
