About the RoleAs a Head Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering nutritious, well-balanced meals while maintaining exceptional culinary standards. You will be responsible for leading the kitchen team, overseeing food preparation, planning menus, and ensuring full compliance with health and safety regulations.
This position also involves creating a positive dining experience, catering to individual dietary needs, and maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. You will take ownership of staff training and development, ensuring best practices in food safety and hygiene are consistently upheld.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the kitchen team to deliver high-quality meals
• Plan and develop menus that meet nutritional and dietary requirements
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety and food hygiene regulations
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen environment
• Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control
• Train, supervise, and support kitchen staff
• Work collaboratively with other departments to enhance resident satisfaction
• Manage time effectively to ensure efficient kitchen operations

• Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a similar setting
• Strong knowledge of nutrition, dietary needs, and food safety standards
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment
• Effective time management and ability to work under pressure
• Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures
• Experience in training and developing kitchen staff
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts

• NVQ Level 3 in Catering or equivalent qualification (desirable)
