Role Overview
As the Conference and Banqueting Head Chef, youll oversee the planning, production, and execution of food service across all event formats. You will be the driving force behind menu development, team leadership, and kitchen operations, ensuring consistent quality and presentation throughout every service.Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Leadership:
Manage, train, and inspire a skilled kitchen brigade working across multiple outlets and event spaces
Menu Creation:
Develop creative, seasonal, and locally inspired menus for corporate functions, weddings, private dinners, and large-scale banqueting
Operational Oversight:
Handle procurement, inventory control, supplier management, and kitchen budgets
Compliance and Standards:
Uphold food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations (HACCP, COSHH), maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness and organisation
Collaboration:
Work closely with the events and FandB teams to ensure smooth service and delivery across all functions
Executive Support:
Step in for the Executive Head Chef when required to maintain continuity and leadership within the kitchen
Candidate Requirements
Minimum of 3 years'' experience as a Head Chef or Banqueting Head Chef in a high-volume, quality-led venue
Expertise in managing large teams and multiple service formats, including private dining and large-scale banquets
Strong understanding of kitchen budgeting, costing, and supplier negotiation
Passion for fresh, seasonal food and sustainable cooking practices
Excellent communication and time-management skills with the ability to lead under pressure
Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic hospitality environment
