An opportunity has arisen to join Mickleover Surgery as a Health Care Assistant, experienced in General Practice.Main duties

The main duties of the role are to support the practice nurses in the delivery of nursing services within the multidisciplinary team, delivering care within the scope of practice to the entitled patient population. The Health Care Assistant will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education.About Us

Mickleover Surgery is a small GP practice in Mickleover recruiting a HCA to join the clinical team of 3 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, 2 Practice Nurses and 1 Pharmacist. Undertake new patient health checksSupport the practice nurses with health promotion programmesCarry out baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, recording findings accuratelyFacilitate routine and 24-hour BP monitoring, advising patients accordinglyUndertake wound care, dressings and other clinical tasks as requiredSupport the practice nurse with the management of chronic disease clinicsCarry out BMI checks as directedAct as a chaperone as requiredPhlebotomyEnsure specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportationEnsure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each sessionECGsRemove clinical waste and replace sharps bins in accordance with Infection Prevention Control policyDeliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriatePerson Specification

Experience

Essential: Experience of working within a nursing team; 12 months'' relevant experience in a primary care environment in the last 2 years.Qualifications

Essential: Healthcare qualification.Knowledge and skills

Essential: Ability to provide quality care and follow clinical policy and procedure; previous experience of SystmOne.Disclosure
