About the role and team In this role you will be supporting the existing team leader to manage the Food and HandS team. You will be managing the team to deliver our food hygiene and standards inspection programme, investigating complaints regarding food and health and safety matters. You will also be assisting with a variety of other functions including health and safety at work, investigation of accidents and infectious disease control. Your work will include providing expert advice and guidance to the team for complex cases as well as directing day to day work.You will be responsible for carrying out 121''s and associated HR functions as well as ensuring performance and service delivery. You will oversee the food inspection contract and the implementation of the new food standards delivery model to ensure the team meets its obligations of the Food law Code of practice. Lead on projects and ensure they are delivered via the Council''s democratic process. As the team leader you will ensure the team carries out appropriate enforcement, in line with the Council''s enforcement policy; providing advice, respond to complaints and serving notices as necessary. You will also be expected to assist officers when attending court and other hearings to provide evidence and lead on prosecutions.
