Hardware/Break-Fix Engineer (Contract) Location: Bolton (Onsite - 5 Days Per Week) Rate: £200 per day Contract Length: Initial 2-month contract, with the potential to extend for a further 3 months We are currently seeking a hands-on Hardware/Break-Fix Engineer to support a large-scale laptop refurbishment and repair project for one of our clients based in Bolton. The successful contractor will be responsible for working through a backlog of over 100 Dell laptops, diagnosing faults, carrying out hardware repairs, and dismantling devices for parts where repair is not viable. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair hardware faults across Dell laptops Replace and repair components including: Keyboards Webcams Laptop hinges Screens and other hardware components Wipe and rebuild devices where required Dismantle non-repairable laptops and recover usable parts Maintain accurate records of repairs and parts inventory Ensure all devices are processed in line with company procedures Technical Environment Dell laptop estate Primarily 10th and 11th Generation devices Mixture of NY22 and NY23 models Hardware repair, refurbishment, and asset recovery Required Skills andamp; Experience Previous experience in a Hardware Engineer, Break-Fix Engineer, IT Technician, or Laptop Repair Technician role Strong hands-on experience repairing laptops and desktop hardware Experience working with Dell devices preferred Comfortable replacing components and diagnosing hardware failures Ability to ..... full job details .....
