HandS Manager

We are recruiting an experienced HandS Manager to lead and develop Health and Safety across a busy manufacturing environment working on a permanent basis near Leyland. Salary is c£52-62,500 per annum (negotiable, depending on experience) plus holidays, pension etc. About the HandS Manager role: This is a hands-on role with responsibility for ensuring legislative compliance, improving safety standards and driving a proactive health and safety culture across the site. The Role Lead and develop Health and Safety policies, procedures and initiatives. Ensure compliance with UK Health and Safety legislation, including PUWER, DSEAR, COSHH and RIDDOR. Complete and oversee risk assessments covering machinery, chemicals, manual handling, noise, DSE and warehouse activities. Lead accident and incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions. Manage liability claims and liaise with insurers, legal advisors and relevant internal teams. Oversee contractor management, permit-to-work systems and safe systems of work. Maintain emergency procedures covering fire safety, first aid, spill response and evacuation. Carry out audits, inspections and toolbox talks. Provide Health and Safety advice, guidance and training to managers and employees. Monitor HandS performance and report on key measures.
