Location: Reading, Berkshire

We are looking for an exceptionally capable and commercially minded Group Transformation Manager to join a growing organisation and play a key role in delivering strategic transformation across the Group.

This is not a traditional PMO or governance position. We are looking for someone who enjoys solving complex business problems, turning strategy into action and personally driving important projects through to successful delivery.

You will work closely with the Group leadership team and have significant exposure to senior decision-makers. You will be expected to challenge thinking, bring structure to complex issues, analyse data, develop solutions and then take ownership of making those solutions happen.

You are likely to be someone who has consistently taken on bigger challenges throughout your career and is now looking for an opportunity where you can have genuine influence at Group level.

You do not need to manage a large team to feel successful. Instead, you are motivated by solving difficult problems, working alongside senior leaders and seeing your ideas translated into tangible commercial results.

You will be comfortable being both the person in the boardroom discussing strategy and the person subsequently building the analysis, preparing the plan and driving the actions required to deliver it.

Private equity experience would be particularly attractive, as would experience of working in a business where there is a strong focus on performance, pace, value creation and commercial accountability.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual who is looking for a role that could ultimately lead towards Transformation Director, Operations Director or COO.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and personally deliver a range of complex, high-priority transformation projects across the Group.
  • Translate strategic objectives into clear plans, actions, milestones and measurable outcomes.
  • Work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team on strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational performance, efficiency, profitability and scalability.
  • Analyse business performance, financial information and operational data to identify issues and opportunities.
  • Develop business cases, recommendations, project plans, presentations and supporting analysis.
  • Take projects from initial concept through to implementation, ensuring momentum and accountability throughout.
  • Work across functions and business units, influencing stakeholders without relying on direct authority.
  • Challenge existing processes and ways of working and identify practical improvements.
  • Track delivery, financial impact, risks and benefits, escalating issues where appropriate.
  • Support initiatives designed to improve EBITDA, margins, productivity and overall Group performance.
  • Bring structure and pace to complex or ambiguous projects.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and ensure effective communication throughout each project.
  • Where appropriate, support integration, change and transformation activity across the Group.

We are looking for someone with approximately 8+ years'' experience who has demonstrated a consistent progression towards increasingly complex and challenging roles.

You may have developed your career within:

  • Management consulting
  • A private equity-backed business
  • Corporate strategy
  • Transformation
  • Commercial strategy
  • Business improvement
  • Strategic project management
  • A high-performing operational environment

You will be someone who combines strategic thinking with a strong bias for execution. You are comfortable moving between the big picture and the detail, and you are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and do the work yourself.

We are looking for:

  • A proven track record of leading complex transformation or strategic projects.
  • Strong commercial acumen and financial understanding.
  • The ability to understand business performance and the financial impact of decisions; experience working with EBITDA, margins or P&L performance would be highly advantageous.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong executive-level stakeholder management skills.
  • The confidence to influence and challenge senior stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to create high-quality presentations, analysis, project plans and business cases personally.
  • Excellent organisation and project management skills.
  • A pragmatic, hands-on approach and a strong focus on delivery.
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to quickly understand unfamiliar businesses, markets and problems.
  • The confidence to operate in an environment where priorities can change and ambiguity is part of the role.
  • A genuine interest in how businesses operate and how they can become more effective and profitable.

This role offers considerable scope for progression.

The successful individual will gain broad exposure to the Group, its leadership team and a wide range of strategic and operational challenges. For the right person, this could provide a strong platform towards a future Transformation Director, Operations Director or COO position.

This is an opportunity to make a genuine impact rather than simply oversee governance. We are looking for someone who wants to get involved, make things happen and build a long-term career with the Group.
