Description
- Manage the preparation and submission of VAT, Corporation Tax, CIS, Gift Aid and Employment Tax returns, ensuring compliance with UK tax regulations.
- Provide tax advice and assess the impact of business decisions from a tax perspective.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external advisers and HMRC.
- Keep up to date with changes in tax and accounting legislation and advise on any business impact.
- Identify opportunities to improve tax efficiency and reduce risk.
- Support the wider business with tax and technical accounting queries, projects and new initiatives.
- Act as the main point of contact for HMRC and manage all related correspondence.
- Assist with tax reporting and year-end accounting requirements.
- Strengthen financial controls and drive process improvements across the finance function.
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving issues where required.
- Help develop and implement finance policies and procedures in line with changing regulations and accounting standards.
- Enhance the use of finance systems and reporting capabilities.
- Lead on tax consultations and provide technical guidance across the organisation.
Profile
A successful Group Tax Manager should have:
- Professional tax or accountancy qualification essential (e.g., CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of UK tax laws, particularly VAT and corporate tax regulations.
- Proven track record in managing tax compliance and providing strategic tax advice.
- Experience working within the not-for-profit sector would be advantageous.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
Job Offer
- Salary of -75,000 - -80,000, dependent on the level of experience.
- 25 days annual leave.
