Corporate Finance has primary responsibility for managing the group’s tax and treasury position, including tax reporting, tax filings, tax audits, tax governance, transfer pricing and managing the liquidity and debt financing across the group.The Role
Autovista Group (part of J.D Power) provides pricing and specification insights to the Automotive market throughout Europe and Australia. The Group Tax Compliance Manager is a key central role to the Group and sits within the Corporate Finance department along with the DTT. The group is looking to recruit a highly motivated individual on a long term basis.The role is involved in all aspects of tax accounting and compliance across the countries in which the group operates. The GTCM would be the interface between the finance reporting and accounting (FRA) leads responsible for tax and accounting in each country and the UK group finance team for tax accounting and compliance matters. They would also have a key role in liaising with the Tax Director at J.D Power on group wide compliance and reporting matters.Responsibilities
Tax accounting and compliance
- The GTCM will be responsible for managing the year end tax process across the group. This primarily includes responsibility for preparing the group tax consolidation and corresponding tax disclosures for the UK group accounts, reviewing year end tax submissions across the group and working with the auditors as required.The GTCM will be responsible for performing a high-level review of tax disclosures in financial statements and for corporate tax submissions across the group by working closely with the FRA leads.The GTCM will manage the UK corporation tax compliance process including quarterly instalment payments, review the quarterly UK VAT returns, manage any HMRC or other tax authority audit as appropriate. The GTCM will also be responsible for liaising with J.D Power as necessary to support with information required for the US tax compliance process.Tax budgeting and cash tax forecasting
- The GTCM will be responsible for preparing the group tax model as part of the budgeting and reforecasting process. They will also be responsible for group tax payment forecasting, including the preparation of annual and quarterly reforecasting and reviewing submissions by FRA leads on a monthly basis to understand variances.Tax governance
- The GTCM will support the group with operating its tax governance framework based around compliance with the Criminal Finances Act (e.g. updating the risk assessment, reviewing the policy, and overseeing controls testing).Ad hoc tax compliance and advisory
- The GTCM will have the opportunity to get involved across all taxes. This could include:Responding to global mobility queries;Assisting with VAT reviews and related questions;Providing withholding tax advice;Reviewing off-payroll working assessments;Supporting with transfer pricing (e.g true ups, recharges, Local Files);Support with Pillar 2 or CBCR requirements; andOther ad-hoc queries as they arise.The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, able to manage their own time effectively and prioritise deadlines. They will have experience working with overseas finance teams on technical tax matters, demonstrate strong attention to detail with an analytical mindset, and possess solid Excel skills, including the ability to work with advanced models. A willingness to learn and apply newly gained knowledge is essential, alongside strong communication abilities, the capacity to collaborate effectively with professional advisers, and a proactive approach with a genuine passion for driving improvements.We are looking for someone with at least three years’ post-qualification experience in UK and international tax, together with a strong understanding of tax accounting concepts under UK GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP. The successful candidate will have proven in-house management experience and a solid working knowledge of global income tax, corporate tax, VAT and other tax regimes, as well as the ability to ensure efficiency and value from professional advisers.Candidates should be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and hold a recognised professional accountancy qualification.If this sounds like you, Apply Now!The Benefits
