The Opportunity
This is a highly visible role, reporting directly to the Operations & Finance Director, where you''ll be responsible for overseeing stock management across multiple warehouse locations. You''ll work closely with the warehouse team and senior management to ensure stock accuracy, maximise warehouse capacity and continuously improve operational performance.
This position offers the ideal blend of strategic planning and hands-on operational involvement, giving you the opportunity to shape processes, drive efficiencies and contribute to the future growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing stock across multiple warehouse locations, ensuring accuracy and availability at all times.
- Analysing warehouse capacity and optimising storage layouts to maximise space and efficiency.
- Coordinating stock movements between sites to support customer demand and operational requirements.
- Maintaining accurate stock records and ensuring company stock control procedures are consistently followed.
- Leading and supporting regular stocktakes, investigating discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
- Monitoring and auditing third-party warehouse providers to ensure stock accuracy and service standards are maintained.
- Forecasting stock requirements to support production planning and business growth.
- Analysing slow-moving stock, batch splits and expiry dates to minimise waste and improve stock rotation.
- Producing meaningful reports and analysing large data sets to support business decisions and KPI reporting.
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across stock management and warehouse operations.
- Supporting warehouse activities during busy periods when required.
- Coaching and supporting warehouse colleagues, including mentoring the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Promoting high standards of health and safety, housekeeping and operational compliance.
About You
We''re looking for someone who is commercially aware, highly organised and passionate about delivering operational excellence. You''ll be confident working with data, identifying trends and implementing improvements while building strong relationships across the business.
You''ll be someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and making informed decisions that positively impact the wider operation.
Essential Experience
To be successful in this role you''ll have:
- Previous experience within stock control, inventory management or warehouse operations.
- A strong understanding of stock management principles and inventory control.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and analysing large volumes of data.
- Experience using stock management systems (Sage 200 experience would be advantageous but is not essential).
- Experience producing reports, analysing KPIs and presenting findings.
- Counterbalance and Reach Truck forklift experience or licences that can be refreshed.
- Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
