Group Junior Accountant

The Group Junior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of a well-established organisation in Brighton. This role is based in Brighton, reporting to the Group Financial Controller, and offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career in accounting.

Description

As the Group Junior Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Produce management accounts for the group companies for review by the Group FC
• Prepare and review financial journals, including prepayments and accruals
• Lead a disciplined month-end close process, establishing clear internal deadlines and accountability
• Contribute to improving finance processes and systems with a focus on enhancing efficiency and automation
• Weekly reconciliation of the bank accounts
• Review Cash Office reports ensuring accuracy and post to accounts
• Produce weekly Flash reports for the business
• Work closely with senior management to provide financial insight and recommendations
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations
• Supporting the Group FC with the year-end audit process and ad-hoc projects

Profile

A successful Group Junior Accountant should have:

• Previous experience in an accounting or finance role.
• Part-Qualified, actively studying, or QBE
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
