Overview
An established and growing main contractor is looking to appoint a Group Health & Safety Manager to be based at their Head Office in Essex, overseeing health and safety across multiple projects throughout the South of England.

This is a key role within the business, responsible for implementing and maintaining high health and safety standards across a diverse project portfolio including hotels, care homes, car showrooms, and mixed-use developments.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior management, site teams, and subcontractors to promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee health & safety strategy and compliance across all company projects

• Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure standards are maintained

• Develop and implement company-wide health & safety policies and procedures

• Provide guidance and support to site managers and project teams

• Investigate incidents, produce reports, and implement corrective actions

• Deliver health & safety training and toolbox talks where required

• Ensure compliance with UK HSE regulations and industry best practice

• Work with senior management to continuously improve safety performance across the business

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Health & Safety Manager role within the construction industry

• Experience overseeing multiple construction sites

• Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and compliance

• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence site teams

• Relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH Construction Certificate / Diploma

• Chartered or working towards IOSH membership is desirable
