GROUP CATEGORY MANAGER (MANUFACTURING PROCUREMENT)
HYBRID BASED SCOTTISH BORDERS - ONSITE MIN 3 DAYS/WEEK - SALARY £70-80,000 PLUS BENEFITS
Based in the beautiful Scottish Borders (circa 1 hour south of Edinburgh), Grw Talent''s client is a well-established global manufacturer of pre-connectorised, blown fibre cable, and ducted network solutions and is at the forefront of the fibre-to-the-X industry. They have two sites in Scotland and form part of an international business stretching into the USA and Middle-East. The group is undergoing extensive growth and change right now. To help facilitate this, they now need to recruit a Group Category Manager, reporting to the Supply Chain Development Director.
We are looking for a proven Category Manager, Senior or Principal Buyer or Procurement Manager. Ideally, you are educated to degree calibre and/or hold relevant professional CIPS qualifications (MCIPS/APICS). Candidates will have worked in a volume driven production / manufacturing environment and ideally will have first-hand experience using SAP ERP (or other relevant ERP systems) platforms to manage the procurement and planning functions. Candidates will need to have experience in managing large global category spend (>£100m) across multi-site businesses and experience with direct production material procurement; polyethylene advantageous. You can show experience of creating and implementing category strategies to mitigate business risk, reduce cost and ensure steady flow/supply. You''ll demonstrate category savings and have skills in market analysis and sourcing and tenders. Our client is looking for innovation via supply chain and supplier and contract management.
You''ll need to be commercially orientated with the ability to negotiate in technical situations, You''ll also need to demonstrate leadership, team work and communication skills. This role requires problem solving and determination, analytical and structured thinking and strategic planning and implementation in an industrial business environment.
Given the role is based across two sites in the Scottish Borders, the client will need presence on site. They are open to a hybrid working style, where you can work from home (possibly Monday and Friday) and be onsite Tues-Thurs inclusive. Your base salary of £70-80,000 is supplemented by a good range of benefits, career development, training and the chance to join a friendly and committed team and culture.
