This is a 12-month assignment focused on council tax and business rates accounting, statutory returns and year-end reporting within the Council''s Accounting and Technical team. What''s on Offer Day Rate: £500 +(Negotiable) Contract length: 12 months + Location: South West Working arrangements: Hybrid - TBC Start: ASAP The Role The successful candidate will lead the Council''s Collection Fund accounting function, providing accurate financial reporting and specialist technical advice to senior finance colleagues. Key responsibilities: Leading council tax and business rates accounting, forecasting and surplus/deficit calculations. Preparing and submitting NNDR1, NNDR3, CTB1, CTR1 and other statutory returns. Supporting tax base calculations and medium-term financial planning. Reviewing debt impairment and business rates appeals provisions.
