Groundworker

Straight-line-are currently looking for an experienced Skilled Groundworker to join our team on an ongoing project in Stoke-on-trent.

This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and hardworking individual with a strong background in groundwork, paving, and hard landscaping.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and compacting sub-bases for paving and hard landscaping.
• Laying paving slabs, kerbs, and edging to a high standard, ensuring accurate line and level.
• Installing sand and hardcore sub-bases.
• Excavating and backfilling service trenches.
• Reinstating paving, turf, and topsoil.
• Installing drainage channels and associated groundwork where required.
• Protecting existing utilities, manholes, and drainage systems during works.
• Working from site drawings and specifications to deliver quality workmanship.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment in line with health and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience in all aspects of groundwork and paving.
• Skilled in laying paving slabs, kerbs, and edging to a high standard.
• Experience with excavation, drainage installation, and sub-base preparation.
• Competent in the safe use of compaction equipment and other relevant plant.
• Valid CSCS Card (essential).
• CPCS or NPORS plant tickets (desirable).
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
