Groundworkers Wanted – North West
A leading Civil Engineering, Groundworks, and Specialist Drainage contractor is expanding its team and looking for skilled Groundworkers to support a range of projects across the North West.
The Role:
We are seeking experienced operatives in:
-
Kerbing – laying new kerbs, removing/realigning existing kerbs with new back and bedding.

Flagging – particularly in the Sefton area, lifting and relaying flags to existing levels.
-
Tarmacking (Rake Hand) – planing off defective tarmac and reinstating surface courses.
-
General Groundworks – across multiple disciplines.
Typical Works Include:
-
Resetting service boxes (BT, Gas, Water)
-
Resetting gully frames and manhole lids
-
Breaking out and reinstating defective kerbing/edging (including PCC installs)
-
Tarmac planing and patching prior to kerbing remedials
-
Plot and main sewer remedials
-
Ducting works (street lighting, signals, illuminated signage)
-
Customer care works (block paving, flagging, tarmacking, manhole works)
-
Use of stihl saws, whacker plates, breakers, and similar tools
What We’re Looking For:
-
CPCS/NPORS-compliant machine operatives (excavator, roller, dumper)
-
CSCS card and relevant trade qualifications
-
Experience in manhole remedials to Sewers
-
NRSWA accreditation (for S278 works)
-
Strong general groundworks knowledge
Future Opportunities:
Gangs with proven experience in dig downs on mains sewers and a solid understanding of Roads and Sewers (R&S) will also be required for upcoming projects.
