Grounds Maintenance Operative / GardenerLocation: London Borough of Hounslow Contract: Temporary / Ongoing Working Environment: Parks, open spaces, highways and public areasRole OverviewWe are looking for reliable and hardworking Grounds Maintenance Operatives / Gardeners to support the maintenance of parks, open spaces and public areas across the London Borough of Hounslow.This is a hands-on outdoor position involving general gardening, grass cutting and grounds maintenance. You will work as part of an operational team ensuring public spaces are kept clean, safe, tidy and well maintained.Main DutiesGrass cutting and lawn maintenanceOperating pedestrian and ride-on mowers where trainedStrimming and edging grassed areasHedge cutting and general pruningWeeding, hoeing and maintaining planted areasMaintaining flower beds, shrubs and bordersLeaf clearance and seasonal grounds maintenanceLitter picking and keeping public areas clean and presentableGeneral clearance of vegetation and green wastePlanting and basic horticultural workUsing hand tools and powered grounds maintenance equipmentLoading and unloading tools, machinery and green wasteAssisting with the maintenance of parks, verges, communal areas and other public spacesDriving council/work vehicles where required and appropriately licensedFollowing health and safety procedures and safe working practicesReporting hazards, damaged equipment or issues within public areas to the supervisorWorking outdoors throughout the year ..... full job details .....
