Bamford Contract Services are currently recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Operative / Driver on behalf of our client based in the Rochdale area.

This role is ideal for someone with previous grounds maintenance experience who is also a confident and experienced driver. A large part of the role involves driving a flatbed truck between sites across Rochdale, transporting equipment and working as part of a grounds maintenance team.

A full, clean UK driving licence is essential, and all successful applicants will be required to complete a driving assessment as part of the interview process.

The Grounds Maintenance Operative / Driver Role:

Working as part of a mobile grounds maintenance team, you will travel between sites carrying out a variety of landscaping and environmental maintenance duties, helping to keep Rochdale''s parks, green spaces and public areas clean, safe and well maintained.

Grounds Maintenance Operative / Driver Duties Include:

• Driving a flatbed truck to various locations across Rochdale
• Transporting grounds maintenance equipment and materials
• Grass cutting using pedestrian and ride-on mowers
• Hedge trimming, strimming and pruning
• General landscaping and grounds maintenance
• Planting and maintaining shrubs and flower beds
• Litter picking and keeping public areas clean
• Operating industrial grounds maintenance machinery
• Working safely and following health & safety procedures

Essential Requirements for a Grounds Maintenance Operative / Driver:

• Full, clean UK driving licence
• Previous experience driving vans, flatbed trucks or similar work vehicles
• Confident driving larger vehicles in a work environment
• Willing to undertake a driving assessment
• Previous grounds maintenance, landscaping, gardening or outdoor maintenance experience
• Experience using strimmers, mowers, hedge cutters or similar equipment
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
