Ground Maintenance Operative

We are a local council based in Farnham, seeking a grounds maintenance operative to support the general upkeep of the open spaces and outdoor facilities. This role is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate, offering the potential to move from temporary to permanent employment.The working hours are 8am 4pm, 5 days a week whereby 2 of the 5 days must include a Saturday and Sunday, with a pay rate of £14.59ph plus holiday pay, free parking, uniform and PPE, the use of a company vehicle and pensions scheme after qualifying period.As the grounds maintenance operative, you would be required to provide reliable weekend support across the public sector client''s parks, open spaces and outdoor facilities. The role involves grounds maintenance, horticultural work, cleaning, litter picking, site opening and security, and supporting events and other outdoor services.Reporting directly to the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor / Parks and Open Spaces Manager, the key responsibilities are:• Carry out general grounds maintenance, including grass cutting, hedge cutting, weeding, pruning, leaf clearance and other seasonal work.• Maintain flower beds, displays and containers, including planting, watering, deadheading and weeding.• Carry out litter picking and empty bins, ensuring public spaces are clean, tidy and welcoming.• Open, inspect and secure designated parks, public conveniences and other sites, following relevant key, alarm and lone-working procedures.• Clean public conveniences ..... full job details .....
