Graduate/Junior Developer

Due to company growth, I am recruiting for a brand new and exciting permanent opportunity for a Graduate/Junior level Developer to join an exciting and forward-thinking Events/Tech company located in Brighton, East Sussex.-

Ideally you will hold a fairly recent degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.-

The Event Tech division is the driving force behind bespoke tools and platforms that support high-end clients across the UK and beyond.- The Tech division are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Junior Developer to learn from and work closely with the CTO.

The role will be full stack development working mainly on web applications.- Working in a process-led environment, you will support ongoing web and mobile development projects with a primary focus on Laravel stack and React Native mobile applications.-

You will collaborate with the CTO to build and maintain structured, scalable systems following the existing architecture and processes.-

Conduct front end UI development, debugging and snagging and perform basic penetration testing.- Occasionally join client calls to gather requirements, communicating effectively and professionally.- -

he role will mainly be based remotely, and you will be required to attend the office in Central Brighton around once a month.

Skills/experience and attributes required:

• Graduate holding a degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering is essential
• Any commercial experience or exposure would be desirable
• Experience or knowledge of Laravel is highly desirable and any knowledge of Laravel Vapour would be useful
• Or experience of working with or knowledge of the PHP framework (object orientated programming)
• Amazon Web Services
• Any knowledge or experience of SES and SMS
• Knowledge/experience of API development
• Experience or knowledge or React is desirable
• PHP unit testing
• Strong problem solver with a high attention to detail
• Outstanding communication skills verbally and written
• Enjoys working collaboratively but also happy to work remotely with the support of a Manager
• Friendly, professional and enjoys working as part of a wider team and communicating with clients and the rest of the business
