This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate with a background in English, Humanities, or a related subject to gain hands-on classroom experience in a supportive and high-achieving school. The successful candidate will support students across KS3 and KS4, working both in the classroom and in small-group interventions. Experience supporting students with SEN is highly desirable, and the school would welcome applications from candidates who can also speak French.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous experience working with young people in a school, tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or support capacity.
  • Be passionate about education and helping students achieve their potential.
  • Have experience supporting students with SEN and additional learning needs.
  • Possess a strong academic background in English, Humanities, or a related subject.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be proactive, resilient, and confident building relationships with students and staff.
  • Have an interest in future teacher-training pathways.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • French-speaking ability would be highly desirable.

Experience, Training and Qualifications

  • Degree or Master''s qualification in English, Humanities, or a related subject.
  • Previous experience working with young people.
  • Experience supporting students with SEN.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management and student engagement strategies.
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training (desirable but not essential).

To Be Eligible for This Role Through Prospero Teaching, You Must:

  • Be willing to register with Prospero Teaching and complete all compliance procedures.
  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Provide two professional references covering the last two years.
  • Be available full-time, Monday to Friday, for the full academic year.
