Graduate or Assistant Contracts Manager

My well established construction client specialising in refurbishment and fit-out projects, is urgently looking to appoint a Graduate or Assistant Contracts Manager to join their team in Oxford.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious construction professional looking to develop their career in project and contracts management, working alongside an experienced team and gaining exposure to a variety of refurbishment projects.

As a Graduate or Assistant Contracts Manager, you will support the delivery of projects from pre-construction through to completion, working closely with site teams, subcontractors, clients and the wider project team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting Contracts Managers with the day-to-day management of refurbishment projects
• Assisting with project planning, programmes and progress monitoring
• Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
• Attending project and subcontractor meetings
• Supporting the management of health, safety and quality requirements
• Assisting with procurement and subcontractor packages
• Monitoring project progress against programme and budget
• Helping to identify and resolve project issues
• Supporting the preparation of project reports and commercial information
• Developing an understanding of contracts, construction processes and client requirements
• Building effective relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and colleagues

The chosen Candidate will be enthusiastic, organised and keen to build a long-term career in construction management.

You may be:

• A recent graduate with a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Surveying or a related discipline
• An Assistant Site Manager, Assistant Contracts Manager or similar looking to progress
• A construction professional with some experience in refurbishment, fit-out or general building
• Someone with strong organisational and communication skills who is ready to take the next step in their career

Refurbishment experience would be advantageous, but a positive attitude, willingness to learn and genuine interest in construction are key.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, able to communicate effectively with different stakeholders and have a strong eye for detail.
