Day-to-Day
Your typical day will involve:
- Using modelling software to model energy performance and assess compliance with building regulations.
- Assisting with on-site air tightness testing and interpreting results.
- Collaborating with team members to develop sustainability strategies for various building projects.
- Producing detailed reports and visualisations to support project delivery.
- Engaging in structured training and mentorship to enhance your technical skills.
Responsibilities
As a Graduate Energy Modeller, you will:
- Conduct energy modelling and building performance analysis.
- Support air tightness testing and compliance-related tasks.
- Assist with Part L assessments and other building regulations compliance.
- Create technical outputs using IES software and SketchUp.
- Develop and visualise building models for design and reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and consultants on live projects.
- Contribute to technical reports, calculations, and sustainability strategies.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Architecture, or a related field.
- Some exposure to IES software (academic or placement experience is acceptable).
- Familiarity or interest in SketchUp (frequently used in this role).
- A keen interest in energy modelling, air testing, and building performance.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent communication abilities.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach to learning and professional development.
