We are looking for -exceptional Applications Engineers with a strong academic and technical background to join an-engineering team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines excellent mathematical and physics skills with practical experience in software development, electronics, and hardware design. The successful candidate will be comfortable working across disciplines, solving complex technical problems, and translating customer and engineering requirements into effective solutions.

You will play a key role in understanding -technology, developing applications, supporting customers, and working closely with our software and hardware engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep technical understanding of our products and their applications.

  • Work with customers and internal engineering teams to understand technical requirements and develop appropriate solutions.

  • Apply strong mathematical and physics principles to solve complex engineering problems.

  • Develop, test, and support software applications and engineering tools.

  • Contribute to hardware design, system integration, testing, and troubleshooting.

  • Analyse technical data and develop models, calculations, and simulations where appropriate.

  • Investigate complex technical issues and provide structured, evidence-based solutions.

  • Produce technical documentation, application notes, specifications, and customer-facing material.

  • Support product development from concept through to testing and deployment.

  • Work collaboratively with software, electronics, mechanical, and systems engineers.

  • Provide technical demonstrations, training, and application support to customers and colleagues.

About You

We are looking for someone with excellent academic and analytical ability who enjoys understanding how things work and applying theory to real-world engineering problems.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical discipline.

  • Excellent mathematical ability, with a strong understanding of applied mathematics and analytical problem-solving.

  • Strong understanding of physics and the ability to apply physical principles to engineering applications.

  • Experience with software development, ideally in one or more languages such as Python, C/C++, C#, MATLAB, or similar.

  • Exposure to hardware design and electronics, including the ability to understand schematics, datasheets, interfaces, and system architectures.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to understand complex technical concepts quickly and communicate them clearly.

  • A methodical approach to testing, troubleshooting, and resolving technical problems.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience developing applications for scientific, engineering, instrumentation, or high-technology products.

  • Experience with embedded systems, sensors, data acquisition, control systems, or instrumentation.

  • Knowledge of electronics design, PCB development, or hardware/software integration.

  • Experience with simulation, numerical modelling, signal processing, or data analysis.

  • Experience working directly with customers or providing technical support.

  • Knowledge of version control and modern software development practices.

  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
