Hoop Professional Services & HR is delighted to be supporting a well-respected Welsh charitable organisation in the recruitment of a Governance & Board Officer on a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2027.

This role has been created to provide additional support to an existing postholder who is undertaking a phased return to work. As such, you''ll benefit from a comprehensive handover, hands-on training and the opportunity to work closely alongside an experienced governance professional.

About the role

Working within a busy Governance team, you''ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running of board and committee governance. You''ll support senior leaders and board members, coordinate meetings, manage confidential information and help ensure the organisation continues to meet the highest standards of governance and compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the planning and administration of Board and Committee meetings

  • Preparing agendas, board papers and taking accurate minutes

  • Managing senior diary coordination and correspondence

  • Supporting governance, compliance and corporate reporting activities

  • Assisting with Freedom of Information requests and governance enquiries

  • Maintaining governance records, registers and documentation

  • Building positive relationships with board members and key stakeholders

  • Providing administrative support across a range of organisational projects

About you

We''re looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in a senior administrative, governance, executive support or committee support role

  • Previous experience organising and minuting formal meetings

  • Exceptional organisational and prioritisation skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • The ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion

  • Strong IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office

An understanding of governance within the public or charitable sector would be advantageous.

Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential.
