Our client, a well renound FMCG/Pharma manufacturing organisation are currently seeking a Global Procurement Director for a permanent position within their supply chain division. This role is pivotal in strategically sourcing goods and services globally, developing procurement strategies, and driving operational quality, value, and innovation improvements at the lowest total cost of ownership. You will have the opportunity to put your own stamp on a procuerement function from ground zero!
Key Responsibilities:
- Review segmentation of the global supplier base and develop/implement strategies aligned with the supply chain strategy.
- Collaborate to create and implement local and global category management strategies; lead cross-functional teams in delivery.
- Monitor and analyse the global supply environment; provide feedback on supplier innovation and emerging technologies.
- Work with global planning and finance teams on strategic plans relevant to sourcing, such as make vs. buy analysis.
- Lead the execution of the sourcing strategy to reduce cost, decrease risk, and improve terms via negotiations.
- Drive and develop a partnership strategy with global strategic suppliers to deliver long-term value.
- Manage all aspects of spend throughout the procurement lifecycle.
- Develop and lead the contract management process and business relationships for all suppliers globally.
Job Requirements:
- Experienced Procurement Leader at a global or regional director level, ideally within complex, multi-site environments.
- Solid track record in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimisation at a global scale.
- Transformation experience in implementing processes, systems, and governance in immature procurement environments.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to deliver tangible value creation.
- Experience and comfort in managing diverse regional agendas while driving alignment to group strategy.
- Proficiency in strategic but hands-on procurement including supplier approvals, sourcing, and cost modelling.
- High calibre, credible, and influential leader; able to engage confidently with the board and executive teams.
- Culturally sensitive and adaptable, capable of uniting local and global priorities.
