The Finance and Procurement Portfolio includes a diverse set of critical enterprise applications and custom-developed solutions that power BCG, reduce risk, and drive business insights. As Tech Area Lead of the Finance and Procurement Portfolio, you are a senior technology leader responsible for strategic technology development, mentoring, and vendor management. You will align technical resources with business priorities, inform stakeholders about the state and direction of the tech strategy, drive innovation, and foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across the portfolio and the broader organization.Responsibilities
Drive the technical direction of the Portfolio, partnering with the functional Portfolio lead to build and execute an Annual Business Review, align roadmaps, estimate resources, and monitor progress throughout Agile cycles.Establish and review technological roadmaps and guardrails to inform how platforms and processes are used within Portfolios.Monitor relevant technical developments and innovations, analyze their impact to BCG, and share insights with related development teams.Ensure adherence to firm-wide technology standards and tailor them to portfolio needs; collaborate with architecture, security, risk, and other COEs to maintain standards and guidelines.Develop people, manage knowledge, and coordinate resources within the Portfolio; mentor deep technical experts and promote collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation.Coordinate with vendors and stakeholders to monitor dependencies, define a cohesive tech strategy, and augment capacity and expertise when needed.What You’ll Bring
Total 15+ years of relevant experience, including proven experience as a technology leader, ideally with multi-team or division leadership experience.Substantial experience in IT architecture, application configuration, and development.Strong negotiation skills to resolve trade-offs without escalation; analytical skills and business acumen with data-driven decision making.Financial literacy and understanding of budget and funding processes; entrepreneurial spirit for operating in rapidly changing environments.Deep understanding of the area of expertise, common hurdles, and challenges; experience in consulting is a plus.Boston Consulting Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
