On-site inspection, testing and repair of the stator, rotor and exciter windings of large high voltage electric generators.Perform winding inspection, electrical testing, maintenance and repairs on Generator HV windings on customer sites globally.Carry out basic mechanical strip-down (and rebuild) of machines to access generator windings.Carry out electrical testing on high and low voltage windings in the field.Conduct visual winding inspections of the stator, rotor and excitation system.Perform on-site generator winding repairs including stator re-wedge work.Work as part of a team for on-site stator strip and rewind operations.Assist mechanical service engineers on assignments, which may not involve winding activities.Supervise and train internal and external customers.Interpret technical drawings, specifications and requirements; prepare method statements and detailed reports for customers. Attend on-site technical meetings.Carry out on-site risk assessments for each assignment and record details on the provided form.Undertake other reasonable duties as directed by the Field Service Manager.Qualifications and Skills

Accredited Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification or relevant experience; minimum qualification through a recognised Craft apprenticeship in stator winding on large high voltage rotating electrical machines.Experience on competitors’ equipment is advantageous.Competent in soldering, brazing, crimping and HV insulating procedures.Self-sufficient, resourceful and a problem solver.Strong character and high energy levels.Effective communication in English (spoken and written).Ability to undertake extensive overseas and offshore work, often for extended periods.Working Arrangements
