The Opportunity

We are offering an excellent opportunity for a talented Joinery Finisher/Glazier to join our manufacturing team in our Harrogate Workshop.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team within finishing and glazing operations, ensuring quality and attention to detail.

Operate effectively within both glazing and finishing functions to meet workload demands, ensuring all joinery products are accurately detailed, finished to specification, and fully glazed before progressing to dispatch.

Key Responsibilities (Finishing Tasks)

• End graining of all joinery before and after priming
• De-nibbing between finishing stages
• Masking of joinery items when required
• Hooking and un-hooking of joinery
• Caulking of beaded items and panel joints
• Fine filling of joints, fixings, and defects
• Preparing joinery for progression through to spray

Key Responsibilities (Glazing Tasks)

• Measure, cut, and install glass into traditional timber sash windows
• Fit heritage double glazed units while maintaining original profiles
• Glaze using traditional linseed oil putty, 3C and Beading.
• Ensure correct bedding, sealing, and finishing

Skills and Experience

Essential:

• Experience as a glazier, ideally heritage-focused
• Knowledge of traditional putty glazing methods
• Basic Joinery experience and the Knowledge of using joinery tooling.
• Understanding of sash window construction

Desirable:

• Knowledge of Heritage Windows and Doors
• Basic Joinery and Timber Skills

Health and Safety within the Workshop

• PPE to be worn at all times.
• Follow COSHH guidance for fillers, sealants and primers.
• Use safe Manual Handling when hooking and unhooking.
• Report hazards, defects, or damage immediately.
• Handle items carefully to avoid damage.

Quality Control

• No visible defects or handling marks
• All components present and grouped by job
• Surfaces clean and ready for spraying
• Follow on understand Glazing and Finishing SOP

Salary: £13.90 - £14.90, based on experience.
