GIS Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented GIS Specialist to support the manual geocoding of approximately 10,000 residential addresses across three of the UK''s leading longitudinal cohort studies: NCDS, BCS70 and Next Steps. Working with ArcGIS Pro, historic Ordnance Survey mapping and AddressBase data, you will identify residential property locations and assign accurate property centroids and, where available, Unique Property Reference Numbers (UPRNs). This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to resolve incomplete or inaccurate address information using a range of spatial data sources.The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience: A degree in GIS, Geography, Urban Planning or a related subject (or equivalent experience). Experience of geocoding and working with GIS software, particularly ArcGIS Pro or QGIS. Strong analytical and data management skills, including data quality assurance and basic SQL. Excellent knowledge of the geography of Great Britain. The ability to work accurately and independently while managing deadlines. Strong communication and organisational skills. Desirable experience includes working with longitudinal datasets, Ordnance Survey data (including AddressBase and MasterMap), historic mapping, and the British National Grid coordinate system however this is not essential.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong GIS skills who enjoys solving spatial data challenges and ..... full job details .....
