About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Geography Teacher to join a dynamic, supportive secondary school in Aylesbury from September 2026. This role offers an excellent opportunity to inspire students by bringing geographical concepts to life, encouraging exploration of global issues, landscapes, and cultures. The position is offered on a temporary-to-permanent basis, allowing for progression into a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons across KS3 and KS4, ensuring content is challenging, accessible, and relevant.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes excellent behaviour and active participation.
- Assess and monitor student progress, using data to refine teaching strategies and provide targeted support.
- Foster analytical thinking, geographical enquiry, and real-world connections through creative and innovative teaching methods.
- Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and whole-school initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress and learning needs.
- Participate in school events, meetings, and ongoing professional development activities.
Person Specification
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Geography at secondary level (Desirable but not essential).
- Strong knowledge of the Geography curriculum and effective classroom practises.
- Passion for the subject, with the ability to motivate and inspire pupils of diverse abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Reflective, proactive, and committed to continuous professional growth.
