Overview
We are looking for a Ground Investigation Engineer to join our team in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to join an established and growing regional team, part of Tetra Tech’s 100 strong and expanding national geo-environmental resource.The team provides ground investigation and geo-environmental consultancy services for a broad range of private and public sector clients in the development, health, education, defence and infrastructure sectors. Your main duties and responsibilities will be to assist with the design, procurement, supervision and management of geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations and assessments.Responsibilities
Production of desk study assessments, the accurate collection of site data and the production of detailed factual and interpretative reports.Undertaking ground gas and groundwater monitoring works and assessment.Collaborate with geo-environmental teams in other offices and with other specialists in the planning, environment and engineering teams to deliver holistic solutions to clients’ needs.Work as part of a busy team delivering focused solutions for our growing client base with emphasis on technical excellence, client care and effective project management.Travel for ground investigation works (at least 50% of the role will be site based and this may involve overnight stays).Qualifications
Degree in geology, engineering geology or a relevant environmental science discipline. A Masters degree is beneficial but not essential.Working towards Chartership with a relevant body (e.g., CIWEM, IEMA or Geol Soc).Experience of ground investigation, including scoping, set-up, logging, supervision, laboratory scheduling, groundwater and ground gas monitoring and factual reporting.Desirable Qualifications

You will hold a degree in geology, engineering geology or a relevant environmental science discipline and should be working towards Chartership. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be fully IT literate, and have a good understanding of health, safety and environmental management as applied to ground investigation.You must have a willingness to travel for ground investigation works. At least 50% of the role will be site based and may involve overnight stays. A full, preferably clean, driving license is required.
