Job Description:
As a Generator Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and repair of generators for our clients in and around Manchester. You will work closely with our customers to ensure their power systems are functioning optimally and provide technical support when needed. This role requires a strong understanding of generator systems, electrical engineering principles, and excellent problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Install, commission, and maintain generator systems for clients in accordance with industry standards and company guidelines.
- Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance of generators to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose generator system issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients, addressing their queries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with the sales team to provide technical expertise during the pre-sales process, including site surveys and system design.
- Keep accurate records of all work performed, including service reports, maintenance schedules, and equipment inventory.
- Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices related to generator systems.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Generator Engineer or similar role, with a strong background in electrical engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of generator systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Proficient in using testing equipment and diagnostic tools for generators.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites within Manchester and occasionally outside the city.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in electrical engineering or generator systems will be an advantage.
