OverviewGeneral Practitioners - Adhoc Shifts across prisons in the North of England. Location: Various prison sites across the North of England. Type: Adhoc / Locum Shifts. Belmont Recruitment is currently looking to speak with experienced General Practitioners who are interested in Adhoc opportunities within prison settings across the North of England.
Responsibilities
Delivering comprehensive primary care services to a varied patient population
Providing clinical assessment, diagnosis, and effective treatment planning
Managing both acute presentations and long-term conditions
Running clinics covering chronic disease management, acute care, and health screenings
Working collaboratively with mental health, substance misuse, and nursing teams
Supporting multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings to enhance continuity of care and risk management
Contributing to clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
Promoting health education, safeguarding, and preventative care within the prison setting
Qualifications
Fully qualified General Practitioner (MBChB or MBBS)
Current registration with the GMC
Flexibility and adaptability to work across different prison sites
Strong communication, clinical, and decision-making skills
Previous experience in secure environments (desirable but not essential)
Prison vetting clearance is required
