Search Consultancy is looking for a hard-working, reliable General Operative to join a busy site in Galashiels (TD1). We are partnering with an established regional contractor requiring a dependable site operative to assist with daily site setup, material handling, trade support, and general site duties.

If you are a punctual operative with a strong work ethic who takes pride in keeping a site safe and running smoothly, we have immediate starts available now.

The Role

• Site Welfare & Maintenance: Maintaining site cleanliness, clearing debris, sorting materials, keeping access routes safe, and managing waste disposal areas.

• Material Logistics: Offloading deliveries, loading out tools and materials, and distributing supplies to sub-contractors and site trades.

• Trade Support: Assisting skilled operatives and site management with general construction, civils, and site preparation tasks.

• Site Safety: Following site RAMS, wearing full PPE, and maintaining strict safety standards across all site activities.

Requirements

• CSCS Card: A valid CSCS Card (Green Operative Card) is mandatory.

• PPE: Full standard 5-point PPE (Hard Hat, High-Vis Vest/Jacket, Steel-Toe Boots, Gloves, and Safety Glasses).

• Work Ethic: Punctual, physically fit, reliable, and capable of working effectively as part of a busy site team.

• Experience: Previous site operative or general laboring experience on construction or civils projects is preferred.

• Right to Work: Must have a valid right to work in the UK.
