      <description>Location: Ipswich | Salary: Negotiable | Type: Contract | General Operative - Drainage Works    We are recruiting  General Operatives  to support drainage works on two major infrastructure schemes.  Works are programmed to commence from  w/c 8 June 2026 , with increased labour requirements through late July 2026.   Role Overview   You will be working as part of an experienced drainage gang on large-scale highways projects, supporting pipelayers, plant operators and supervisors to deliver works safely, efficiently and to specification.   Typical Gang Structure    1 x Grey Hat Supervisor (FLS / Foreman)  1 x Experienced Pipelayer (Confined Spaces trained)  2 x Excavator Operators (20-30T tracked machines)   1 x General Operative (your role)     Scope of Works    Assisting with installation of carrier and filter drainage  General groundworks and drainage support duties  Slinging, spotting plant, and pipe handling  Trimming, backfilling and reinstatement works  Majority of works less than  2.0m depth , with some drainage up to  3.0m   Working in a highways / infrastructure environment    Requirements    Previous experience as a  General Operative  on civils or drainage projects  CSCS card (essential)  Good understanding of site health &amp; safet...</description>
