Are you an Operations Manager, Head of Operations or Operations Director ready to run a whole business?

We’re recruiting a General Manager to lead an established, profitable engineering operation in Leicestershire.
This is a smaller, hands-on business with around 25 people, but it forms part of a successful, well-funded international engineering group with ambitious growth plans. The current site leader is moving into a wider international role, so you’ll benefit from a structured handover rather than walking into a turnaround situation. 
You’ll take responsibility for the full operation, including:

• Manufacturing, service and engineering delivery
• People leadership and performance
• P&L and budget control
• ERP, capacity, WIP and operational data
• Quality, Health & Safety and compliance
• Developing the site to handle larger, higher-value engineering projects

The business covers welding, fabrication, machining, repair, refurbishment and field service within a low-volume, high-variety engineering environment.  This is an excellent step for an ambitious Operations Manager, Head of Operations, Manufacturing Manager or Operations Director who has already taken significant responsibility for an engineering or manufacturing operation and is ready for more.
You’ll need:

• Strong engineering/manufacturing credibility from one off / small batch engineering
• Practical experience with a fabrication / metal working / machine build environment
• Experience leading experienced shop-floor teams
• Budget or P&L responsibility
• Good understanding of ERP and operational data
• Evidence of improving productivity, profitability, delivery or quality
• The confidence to work equally well on the shop floor and with senior group leadership
