Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + Vehicle & Bonus

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a General Manager on behalf of one of our clients.

The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of a well-established manufacturing business within the interior design sector, specialising in premium, handcrafted decorative products. This is a key leadership role overseeing both office-based functions and on-site production operations, ensuring strong financial performance, operational efficiency, and a high-performing team culture.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Full ownership of P&L performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Lead, manage and develop both office and production teams.
• Oversee daily operations across manufacturing, logistics, and administration.
• Drive operational improvements and efficiencies across the site.
• Ensure production output meets quality, cost, and delivery targets.
• Collaborate with sales and commercial teams to support business growth.
• Implement and monitor KPIs across all departments.
• Maintain a strong focus on health & safety and compliance.
• Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a General Manager or Operations Manager position.
• Strong background within a manufacturing or production-led environment.
• Demonstrable experience managing P&L and budgets.
• Confident people leader with experience managing multi-functional teams.
• Commercially astute with a hands-on, problem-solving approach.
• Experience working within SME or owner-led businesses is highly desirable.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
