The Opportunity

A long-established premium European brand-renowned globally is undergoing a significant transformation under new ownership within a growing industrial group.

The UK is set to become the operational heart of the business. Manufacturing and assembly will relocate from Switzerland to a new facility in Bala, North Wales, where it will integrate with other group capabilities. While a small nucleus of design and IP will remain in Switzerland, Bala will lead production moving forward.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to spearhead the turnaround of a respected European manufacturing business, relocating operations to a modern UK base and building a lean, high-quality production environment from the ground up.

As General Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the relocation and set-up of the new UK manufacturing facility.

• Embedding lean manufacturing processes and world-class quality standards.

• Developing and redeploying the existing team while recruiting new talent.

• Collaborating closely with Swiss colleagues to transfer knowledge, BOMs, and product IP.

• Driving operational performance to support revenue targets of -6m+ within 2-3 years.

• Reporting directly to the Group CEO and serving as the senior leader on site in Bala.

This role is ideal for a hands-on operator with proven leadership experience in manufacturing or electronics assembly environments, particularly in turnaround or site transition scenarios.

You will be comfortable both:

• Implementing lean practices on the factory floor, and

• Presenting performance metrics in the boardroom.

Key attributes:

• Strong leadership and people management capabilities.

• Experience with ERP/MRP systems, production control, and ISO-certified quality systems (ISO9001/17025).

• Financially savvy, with a history of delivering on key operational KPIs.

• Resilient and pragmatic, able to bring structure and discipline to evolving environments.
