General Manager - Food Producer

Location: Leicestershire

Salary: -85,000 - -125,000 per annum (dependent on experience) + excellent package + possible share options / equity participation.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced General Manager to join an innovative food producer based from a single location site in Leicestershire. With a turnover of -50 million, having started from scratch just before the Pandemic,- our client is now rapidly growing and seeking a General Manager to drive operational excellence and support further business growth within the UK and European market.

As the General Manager, you will play a crucial role in streamlining operations, managing and improving production lines, overseeing health, safety, and environmental improvements, and leading a team to ensure the business continues to meet and exceed market demands.

The General Manager role is a new role which has arisen to enable the founding CEO of the business to take on a more strategic role on the Board.- The General Manager will take day to day and profit and loss control of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide strategic and operational advice to the Managing Director / CEO on production, operations, and productivity

- Lead a multifunctional team, implementing flexible labour strategies to optimise productivity and meet strict customer KPIs / SLAs

- Drive business re-engineering strategies to support expansion plans

- Manage inventory holding policies to improve efficiency without increasing working capital

- Work closely with customers to address and resolve any concerns or complaints.- A dedication to food quality and excellent service is a must.

Ideal Candidate:

- Proven experience as an Operations Director, General Manager, or similar role within the food or related production / supply chain industry

- People leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams

- Commercial acumen with a track record of driving business growth and efficiency

- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
