General Manager

Overview

We''re looking for an experienced General Manager to lead operations at our Defence site in Barnstaple. This is a full-time role (40 hours/week) managing multi-functional teams and ensuring exceptional service delivery across all contracted services.Responsibilities

Lead and develop departmental managers and frontline teamsManage client and contractual relationships with a focus on compliance and safetyDrive efficiency, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvementOversee financial performance, budgets, and service outputsEnsure full HSE compliance and staff training standardsBuild strong client relationships and support business retention and growthQualifications

Proven experience in contract catering or similar operational rolesStrong leadership and team management skillsCommercially astute with a track record of delivering resultsExcellent communicator, quality-driven, and process-focusedIT literate and confident with MS Office toolsAbout Compass Group / Benefits
