They are known for their elegant spaces, captivating gardens, and exceptional service, both venues have a strong reputation within the wedding industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to take charge of these busy, well-established sites and work with a passionate, experienced team to deliver unforgettable events and outstanding results, and to develop the business strategy of those venues to further success.The role:Direct line management responsibility:
Events Managers of all grades, service staff, housekeeping, facility and grounds maintenance.DescriptionThe Venue Operations Manager has responsibility for a cluster of venues, generally two, with accountability for all aspects of events operational and financial performance, reporting directly to the Executive Operations Manager and working closely with the Regional Operations Managers.The Venue Operations Manager responsibility extends across the entire venue and events operation, with oversight for the kitchen and bars departments. They will manage and develop the teams onsite to deliver all operations, including sales (as required), events and FandB service to the high standards set by the company, making best use of their senior deputy at each venue to deliver the required standards. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on both strategic planning and hands-on involvement - ensuring the venues remain the best in the region for couples and guests alike.This list is broadly illustrative of the scope of responsibilities but is not exhaustive.Team Leadership and Management:Mentorship of the senior deputy at each venue within the cluster to deliver the daily operational requirements at their venue, including many of these listed responsibilitiesLine management of all events and service staffRecruitment and induction of events, accommodation, facilities and grounds staff, as requiredTraining, induction and ongoing mentorship of events staffOperational Standards and Customer SatisfactionEvent management – including a number of shifts worked per yearStaff uniforms and day-to-day professional presentation of the teamContinual assessment of the customer journey at client meetings and service delivery at events to mentor the events team and improve performanceService training and review of best practiceImplementation of group decisions and new practicesCompliance with premises license/planning conditionsReviewing, managing and responding to customer reviews, feedback and complaintsFinancial:Manage the key sale opportunity of client meetings to exceed budget forecast of catering revenuesEnsure each event has a staffing plan that fits within agreed cost limitationsCommunicate staff cost plans with events managers, and ensure they achieve best results by assessing required staffing levels during events, sending staff home early where possibleAwareness of and adherence to non-FandB operating costsEfficient allocation of resources to reduce costsPlanning and delivering Capital expenditure and improvements projects in line with agreed budgetLocal payroll and TandA management, including checking shifts worked against reported and staff template variation reports, and pay adjustmentsSupplier management: tendering for purchases to ensure best market rates, regular review of non-FandB suppliers including benchmarking against competitor alternative suppliersThis is a fantastic opportunity to take on a senior and strategic leadership role at two well established venues, working for the countries leading wedding and events company.
