General Foreman Groundworks and Civil Engineering Location: Middlesbrough Salary: £50k base + Van Job Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role We are seeking an experienced and motivated General Foreman to join one of our growing civil engineering and groundworks contractors. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong site leader to oversee the successful delivery of multiple groundworks packages while managing a workforce of approximately 40 groundworkers across a range of commercial and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities Lead, supervise, and coordinate a team of approximately 40 groundworkers and subcontractors. Plan and manage daily site activities to achieve programme milestones. Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company policies and statutory regulations. Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and site inductions. Allocate labour, plant, and materials effectively to maximise productivity. Monitor workmanship and maintain high quality standards throughout the project. Liaise closely with Site Managers, Project Managers, Engineers, clients, and subcontractors. Identify and resolve site issues before they impact programme or budget.
